El Dorado, AR, June 15, 2015:

Main Street El Dorado is proud to present the Murphy USA Summer Concert Series summer schedule. The concert series is free to the public and will feature national music artists performing outside on Union Square in the heart of historic downtown El Dorado. The concerts will take place the last Saturday of the month June through August.

The Summer Concert Series will kick off on Saturday, June 27 with Paul Thorn. This Southern-reared blues and roots rock singer-songwriter has become one of the most popular touring acts throughout the country. The Tupelo, Mississippi native is proud to be the “second-most famous musician to come out of Tupelo” and has toured constantly since his 1997 debut, “Hammer and Nail.” Thorn is presently touring in support of his 2014 release “Too Blessed to Be Stressed.” Prior to the launch of his professional music career, Thorn was a professional boxer, having fought a nationally televised fight against former world champion Roberto Duran. In 1987, he won the Mid-South Middleweight Championship in Memphis, Tennessee.

The next performance of the summer will take place Saturday, July 26 with Brothers Osborne returning to Union Square after performing at MusicFest El Dorado last year. The Nashville-based duo is know for their earthy, passionate country rock. Raised in Deale, Maryland, siblings John and TJ Osborne grew up listening to their father’s country and rock records. The brothers released their debut self-titled EP in September 2014 on EMI Records. The release has produced a Top-30 charting single, “Rum,” with the follow-up single “Stay a Little Longer” currently climbing the charts. The duo has spent much of the past year as the opening act on Eric Church’s The Outsiders World Tour and will spend this summer on Darius Rucker’s Southern Style Tour. Brothers Osborne was nominated for the 2015 ACM Vocal Duo of the Year.

The final performance of the summer will bring Love and Theft to the stage Saturday, Aug. 22. It has been an exciting year for the ACM/CMA/CMT-nominated country duo. Love and Theft was nominated for Vocal Duo of the Year for the third consecutive year at the 2014 CMA award. Having already established themselves as one of country’s hottest young acts with such memorable hits as the No. 1 country smash “Angel Eyes” and Top-10 hit “Runaway,” Love and Theft released a boundary-pushing new album earlier this year – “Whisky On My Breath.” The frontmen of Love and Theft, both singer-songwriters and guitarists, Stephen Barker-Liles and Eric Gunderson said they set out to make a more meaningful third album, still committed to the high-energy performances and emotionally forthright song crafting that has been the foundation of Love and Theft’s music from the start.

The Showtime Concert Series will start each scheduled night at 7 p.m., with pre-event music on the Showtime Stage and the headliner taking the stage at 8 p.m. The event will follow Main Street El Dorado’s award-winning Showdown at Sunset performance, beginning at 6 p.m. on the steps of the Union County Courthouse at 101 N. Washington St., the center of historic Union Square. This award-winning event was named one of the Top-100 Events in North America by the American Bus Association and received the Community Trademark Award by the Arkansas Festival and Event Association.

The other Sponsors for the 2015 Summer Concert Series will include: Murphy USA-Title Sponsor, The Systems Group, PJ’s Coffee/El Dorado Creamery, Main Street Antiques/Macs Tree Service, Apex, El Dorado Chemical, First Financial Bank, Hepco, Coca-Cola, City of El Dorado and the El Dorado A & P Commission.
